Welcome to the Paperclip Community
Aron Prins · 2026-04-30
This is the place to figure out how to actually run an AI company on Paperclip — together. Whether you've just hired your first CEO agent or you're already running a multi-agent org, this community is where the practical knowledge lives: the patterns that worked, the mistakes worth avoiding, and the questions nobody has answered yet.
A quick tour of what's here and how to use it.

Three places to learn, in order of depth
Threads — this space, where you are now. Threads are conversations: questions, bug reports, ideas, and open discussions. Use them when you want input, when you've hit something the docs don't cover, or when you have a war story other operators should hear.
Guides — opinionated walkthroughs written by the team and the community. They cover the thinking behind running a Paperclip company: governance design, approval patterns, weekly review processes, mixed-adapter teams, and the common mistakes that show up in everyone's first month. Start with Before You Hire Your First Agent (/guides/getting-started/before-you-hire-your-first-agent) if you're just getting set up.
Docs — the reference. Every API endpoint, every adapter, every configuration surface, written for when you need the exact shape of something. Less narrative, more contract.
A useful pattern: read a guide to understand why, check the docs for how, then come back to threads when reality doesn't match either.

I have had this issue too with open claw mostly, and used claude to fix them. I was wondering if this just needs more observability to detect, remediate and restart/continue with the chat..
This is flow that I have talked about here is a exception flow, I sometimes wonder if there is a better architecture where these just do not happen and restarts are built in i.e. a monitoring process checks if there are any messages that have not be responded too (and no one is processing them) and auto-retries - Maybe the Paperclip architecture already does this under the hood.

I've been playing with paperclip for the last week and it's amazing! I think that paperclip could use a OOB (out-of-band) management chat. I've run into a few times where the agents stopped being responsive (stuck in a loop etc). I used Claude to get them going again. It'd be neat to have a chat window built in to un-stick them.
