A step-by-step, screenshot-friendly guide to installing and using the\ run-paperclip plugin: operate your Paperclip company from a Claude Code\ session on your own machine, so the work runs on the Claude subscription you\ already pay for instead of being billed separately.

> Who this is for. Founders and operators. You do not need to know any\ > command flags, IDs, or Paperclip internals. If you can open a terminal (or the\ > Claude desktop app) and type a / command, you can follow this.

The idea in one minute

Paperclip lets you run a company of AI agents. Normally those agents run inside\ Paperclip, and Paperclip pays Claude to do their work. As of June 15, 2026,\ that server-side work is billed separately from your normal Claude subscription\ (it draws on metered "Agent-SDK credit," then Extra Usage).

run-paperclip flips that around. You keep using the Paperclip UI exactly as\ before — create companies, write issues, assign agents, set up routines. But\ instead of Paperclip running the work and charging you separately, a Claude\ Code session on your own machine picks the work up and does it — on your\ subscription, at no extra charge.

You stay the founder. The plugin lets your Claude Code session act as your\ company's agents and finish their work from the outside.
