These Companies Terms govern the creation, publishing, cloning, remixing, downloading, listing for sale, purchasing, and use of Companies on [paperclip.community](https://paperclip.community).

They are incorporated by reference into the [Terms of Service](./terms-of-service.md) and supplement the [Content License](./content-license.md). They are further supplemented, for paid listings, by the [Seller Agreement](./seller-agreement.md) and the [Buyer Terms](./buyer-terms.md). In the event of a conflict between this document and the Content License with respect to Companies specifically, this document prevails. In the event of a conflict between this document and the Seller Agreement or Buyer Terms with respect to the commercial relationship around a paid Company, those documents prevail.

What is a Company?

A "Company" is a structured artifact users build on the Platform, consisting of identity, agents, goals, projects, tasks, skills, and other configuration assembled into a single document. Companies are distinct from posts, comments, guides, and code snippets, and the licence framework in [Content License §2](./content-license.md) does not by itself cover Company-to-Company use by other users.

References in these Terms to a Company include its document data, structure files, exported archives, and associated metadata (including lineage references to parent Companies).

A Company has a lifecycle state comprising:

a status (draft, live, archived), a visibility (private, unlisted, public), a lineage (original, clone, remix, import), a selected licence (see §3), and a listing state (notlisted, forsale, delisted) indicating whether the Company is currently offered for sale on the Paperclip Community marketplace (see §5A and the [Seller Agreement](./seller-agreement.md)).
